The Early Years

Peter Bates has been in and around the fire protection industry for most of his adult life. Volunteering with the CFA gave him a unique insight into the devastation that fire can cause to life and property.

As an employee of Quell Fire & Safety, Peter had the opportunity to work in a wide range of settings. Peter’s service protocols and standards were developed and honed during his time with Quell during the 1980’s and 1990’s. Quell, with over 100 years in the Fire Safety field remains an outstanding company in the fire protection landscape.

Having trained and worked with many of the industry’s leading providers and with Jenny’s support P & J Fire Services was launched in 2009.

Peter Bates is a long standing Corporate member of the Fire Protection Association Australia (FPA Australia) This organisation is the national peak body for fire safety. Information, services and education provided by FPA Australia supports competencies in the fire protection, building and construction industries. P & J Fire Services is committed to all aspects of fire safety

A former volunteer fire fighter with the Country Fire Authority (CFA) P & J Fire Services maintains the association as a registered CFA Fire Equipment Maintenance provider.

P & J Community Partnerships

P & J Fire Services are embedded with the community on many levels.  School concerts at the Naranga School, Frankston , PLOS musical productions, Melbourne Gang Show, South Metro Showtime, Athletics meets for the Syndal District School Sports Association, Waverley Little Athletics Association, Carrum Downs Fire Brigade Market Day supporter and most recently Kangaree in March 2022 with the Scout Association.
